Episode Recap - The Woman in the Garden
Bones and Booth arrive in Little Salvador were a suspected gang member has been pulled over. They finds a Mara Muerte tattoo on his neck (they are a feared gang in the area) and female remains in the trunk. They are asking questions when shots are heard and they are being shot at in a drive-by shooting. The shooters get away and so does the gang member. Back at the lab they find out the victim was a Christian cause she had a rosary on her and that she was hit hard on the head. Meanwhile, Booth is interrogating Miguel Valleda. There he learns that the drive-by shooting was made by other Mara Muerte gang members. Brennan then learns that the victim was pregnant. They find where she was buried and learn that there was another body buried nearby. They link the remains back to Senator Alan Corman. There they meet Hector, the house manager, and Logan, the Senator’s son. They identify the gang member from the car as Jose Vargas. They also find the second body. They head over to Jose’s house and find his wife and son, who will not talk with Booth or Bones. Back at the lab they find a hereditary condition linked to both victims. They were father and daughter. They also conclude that the father was not murdered, but died of cancer.

Episode Recap - The Superhero in the Alley
Booth and Deputy Director Cullen are at the crime scene. Cullen is irritated and says that he wants Booth to close this case and that he doesn’t want to read in the headlines next week about the mystery boy that some church kids found in an alley dressed for Halloween. Booth guarantees him that he will not read that headline. Bones shows up and they walk to where the corpse is. They find a body in a suit that Booth says they think is a sexual bondage suit, and a bag with degraded cellulose and maggots in it. Zack also finds injuries that suggest it was a full body impact. Booth tries to see if he was pushed or if he fell, and Bones says that is what they have to find out. Booth pushes for a quick ID and uses the “charm smile” on Bones to try to coax her into rushing, but Bones tells him, “Don’t use your charm smile on me,” and he responds by saying that it’s a mark of respect. Back at the Jeffersonian, Zack is talking about the age markers of the body, between 13 and 18 years old, saying that the build of the victim makes his age closer to the lower side of the age range. Hodgins comes and says that the cellulose in the bag was a graphic novel. Zack remarks that he has never read comics, and Hodgins says that he had him pegged for a graphic novel nut. More and more injuries and discoveries unfold quickly, and they come to the realization that he was dropped after he was killed and that his killer wanted it to look like a suicide.

Episode Recap - The Woman in the Car
Bones is at a TV station making an interview for the morning show “Wake Up, DC”. She is being interviewed about her new book. She seems awkward, trying to be polite and smiling. She is being asked some questions but none of her answers are what the host, or anyone for that matter, would expect. Booth arrives just in time for the end of it.
He makes her signs, trying to get her to be happier and elaborate on the answers, but he fails. Finally, the interview is over after she says that she doesn’t wants to have kids. The show host takes off with a not-too-happy face. Bones ask him how she was and he takes her to the new crime scene.
They arrive and see a car that seems burned, and inside there’s a skeleton in the driver’s seat that’s all burnt up. It seems like a kidnap and the first 48 hours are critical so Booth needs her to identify the body to know what child they are looking for.
At the Jeffersonian, Bones and Zack are working on the remains. They have identified a woman who gave birth about 5 to 8 years ago and with some features in her molars that are consistent with some eastern European cultures. Zack also finds something in her larynx.
Dr. Goodman enters with Agent Samantha Pickering who will perform a security review for the State Department. From the first moment, Hodgins doesn’t look pleased with the idea.
